Europe Day
Europe's 50th birthday celebrations went entirely unnoticed in Northern Ireland.
There's no denying the British commitment to cheap holidays in Spain and van loads of duty free booze from France, but when it comes to European issues we really couldn't care less.
No flags, no ceremonies, barely even a mention.
So thank goodness for the peace and prosperity brought by the European Union.
And farewell to suggestions for standardising the Sausage and the Pint.
Good riddance to the Common Agricultural Policy (if only!).
Happy Birthday Europe!
