No Smoking in enclosed spaces
The No Smoking ban for all enclosed public places takes effect in Northern Ireland today. That means no more smoking in the pub, at the football stadium, or even outside at Belfast's main bus station.
I will definitely benefit from the ban, and Claire has even promised that she's more likely to visit the pub once the ban is in effect. However, part of me still thinks of this as facist legislation.
Hopefully, once the hype has died down and everyone has gotten used to the concept, a little common sense will kick in.
Meanwhile, companies like Translink will no doubt use this as an excuse to further reduce staffing levels in the the cleansing departments.
