Up one level

Older musings.

Dad in Melbourne
For a man who doesn't like the sun much, Australia was a dramatic change. I just hope it didn't go to his head!
Jonathan's Wobbly Tooth
Jonathan has his first wobbly tooth. He's six years and two months.
The Ulster Orchestra
I'm a big fan of live music, and ensure that we visit the Waterfront Hall regularly.
Send a postcard to Le Rouret
Alex Nitters would like a favour. Please send a postcard to his school from anywhere in Europe.
Karen makes an honest man of Tom
Karen and Tom celebrate their wedding in Ballymena.
Irisches Tagebuch
I've just dusted down my copy of Heinrich Böll's diaries.
No Smoking in enclosed spaces
The No Smoking ban for all enclosed public places takes effect in Northern Ireland today. That means no more smoking in the pub, at the football stadium, or even outside at Belfast's main bus station.
Europe Day
Europe's 50th birthday celebrations went entirely unnoticed in Northern Ireland.
Leah moves to Dublin
Leah has finally made the move to Dublin. She starts her new job on Monday.
Emily turns four
We held a party at home for butterfly Emily.
Wii Wii Wii all the way home
We went to see Auntie Helen's new house in Bettystown.
Zope Component Architecture
OK. I've bitten the bull by the horns and charged the world of Zope 3.
School Reports
I know they're parental specific, and only I really want to know how brilliant my children are, BUT THEY ARE.
Back to Buttons
After two glorious weeks in Portugal, it's back to graft. Cold, wet and early: this must be work then...
Day Tripping
We took a short trip to Newcastle to view the mountains. It was sunny, against all odds.
Emily's First Day
Emily has made it to big school (or at least school proper).
Hallowe'en in Lanzarote
The children enjoyed a visit to Fire Mountain and to the seaside. Mummy enjoyed a visit to a dining room where someone else had cooked.
I'm an auntie!
Baby has arrived, and now we know it's a girl. 7lb 7oz around noon today. Mother and baby are well; daddy's state of mind may take longer to determine.
The next Joni Mitchell?
Emily shows great promise, playing Victor's guitar.
Boycotting Easter Eggs
I'm disgusted by the greed and by the assumption of greed. I don't care how early Easter is, there is no justification for placing easter eggs in the supermarkets in the aisles alongside discounted Christmas decorations.
Chocolate Mountain
I've totalled up the Christmas chocolate mountain now, and Cadbury's need have no fear of my Easter Egg boycott. We'll still be eating what we have at Easter...
Christmas Eve
A photo to summarise Christmas Eve. It's not true to say that the weekend before Christmas had provoked undue calm.
Christmas Day
A day for the little ones.
Easter Monday
A concept was born in the middle of the night. It involves lots of arduous work, but it might just pay off.
